Liebster Nomination!

Okay, so I am so excited. I have been nominated for a Liebster award, which is basically a way for bloggers to recognize other bloggers who are just beginning to grow (with less than 200 followers). The fantastic Madi over at C'est la Moot nominated me, so please check her out and follow her as well!
Here are the rules:
  • post 11 random facts about yourself
  • answer 11 questions that the person who nominated you posts
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you in your post
  • choose 11 new blogs with under 200 followers for their Liebster Award!
Well then, here we go, Facts about me!:

1.  I am an avid American Horror Story. I don't really watch many TV shows, but AMHS is my jam. My favorite season was last years, Asylum.

2. I really hate the sound and feel of cotton being torn off of q-tips, or cotton balls being ripped in half. It's sort of a "nails on a chalkboard" sort of deal....ugh getting the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.

3. I am obsessed with Ellen DeGeneres. I think she is so funny, and finds the best people to feature on her show. My best friend and I even dressed up as "Sophia Grace and Rosie" for halloween last year (if you aren't familiar wth them, they are two cutie-pie cousins regularly featured on Ellen).

4. I jumped off of a 300 foot cliff in Switzerland, which was terrifying but also such a cool experience. I like to think that doing it makes me a brave person :) check it out Here!

5. I love yoga, and am trying to do more of it. As someone who suffers with occasional bouts of anxiety, yoga helps me feel centered and energized. I especially love hot yoga!

6.  I was my sorority's (Chi Omega) social chair for a year, which I simultaneously loved and hated. It taught me that I love event planning, and it helped me become a better leader. It also showed me the challenges and rewards of working with and managing big groups of people.

7. My first love (besides my dad of course) was Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. Swoon......

8. I am a quarter Greek and I love it. My yiayia makes literally the best food on the face of the planet. Spanikopita and avgolemono for the win!

9. My very favorite thing to do is travel. Any chance I get I try to take, and I hope to be able to travel as part of my career some day. There is something so refreshing about immersing yourself into the unknown. My dream destinations: Belize, South Africa, and London.

10. I am a creator. I love to cook, bake, craft, blog, write...you name it.

11. I always cry when I see videos of military men and women reuniting with their families / loved ones (especially marines...forget about it.)

Now for Miss Madi's Questions:

1. What is your best childhood memory?

My best childhood memory is a snow day when we lived in our old house. My dad, brothers and I built a "snow fort" against the corner of our fence. My mom made us hot chocolate to drink while we were in there. I thought that was just the coolest.

2. If you could live anywhere around the world, where you it be and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world I would live in Italy (again). I hope to one day live in Positano soaking up the sun, picking lemons and learning Italian. Let's hope I make enough money to get there someday !

3. If you had to be an animal, what would you choose?

If I were an animal I would want to be a cheetah. For one, cheetah print looks great on me, and I'm a terrible runner so that would be cool to be nice and quick.

4. Regardless of how realistic or unrealistic, what is your dream job?

My dream job would be to own a 1/3 library, 1/3 bakery, 1/3 bar. You could read, eat, drink and dance all in one spot! Or, a professional travel blogger...

5. If you had to read one book, listen to one song, and watch one movie for the rest of forever, what would you choose?

If I had to read one book it would be Gone Baby Gone by Dennis Lehane. I love his writing style, and since it's set in Boston, I've seen first hand where much of the action takes place. Way cool. If I could listen to one song I would listen to Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. It's classic, beautiful, and I could never be sick of it. If I had to watch one movie forever I would watch This is the end. I know it has gotten some mixed reviews, but I saw it recently and thought it was hysterical. Second choice is It Takes Two. Mary Kate and Ashley rock.

6. What is your must have/ go to beauty product?

High end- Urban Decay Naked Pallet. Perfect for every day, and every night. Cheap-o Depot- Carmex. I think i have Carmex in some form in every bag I own. For a chick with habitually chapped lips it is a must.

7. If you could witness any major event in history, what would it be and why?

I would love to be at Woodstock. Talk about a good time. I think I may have lived in the 70's in a past life.

8.  What kinds of food do you enjoy? What kinds do you hate?

I love anything with chocolate or cheese. And wine. I don't hate many foods besides black licorice.

9. If you had to lose one sense for a year, what would you be willing to part with?

If had to lose one sense, I guess it would have to be smell. I think that would be the least difficult to live without.

10. What is the most beautiful thing you've seen in nature?

The most beautiful thing I've seen in nature is whales off the coast of Cape Cod. They are seriously incredible animals. Life changing experience.

11. If a movie was being made about your life, who would you choose to portray you?

If Kim Possible was busy, I'd love Julia Roberts circa 1995 to portray me. She doesn't really look like me but we both like to smile....and were both super cool :)

  2. It's so funny that you chose Woodstock as your historical event! My mom is always telling me I would be a flower child if I was born in the 70's. It seems like a great time to have experienced.

  3. I am also obsessed with AHS, even though this past season was kind of boring to me, Asylum is definitely the one to beat! I'll leave the link to my blog, it's a month old so it's definitely under 200 followers lol
